Pray Oregon Updates - May 2017
April was a whirlwind of activities for Diana and me. Our time began on Friday, March 31st with a tour of the State Capitol by our own personal guide Wendell, who is the unofficial Capitol chaplain. It was truly amazing to pray in both chambers of the house, walk through corridors praying for our senators and representatives and sense God’s presence in our government.
The evening was spent at Salem House of Prayer in worship and prayer for our state and nation. Many prayers and prophetic words were spoken over the team before we headed out. Saturday morning was a rush trip to Roseburg as we met up with members from the Roseburg House of prayer. We spent the day reading the word, praying, walking in solitude and sharing a meal together. After a good night’s rest with a host family, we headed to Coos Bay for the Sunday morning service at Coast Life Church. Diana had the opportunity to share her testimony of how God has healed her heart. It was great to hear her story again. The rest of the team headed on to Klamath Falls, Burns, Bend, Baker City and beyond.
Fast forwarding to May 4th took us to down town McMinnville as I joined with 15-20 pastors to pray during the lunch hour at Gormley Plaza. That evening, we traveled to the State Fair Grounds in Salem to join with approximately 3,500 other believers to pray for our nation, state and local leaders. It was such a wonderful experience. Prayers were rumbling throughout the pavilion and worship filled the entire area. We were both dramatically touched as scripture portions were read in English, Spanish and Russian. We had no idea the Russian church is so strong in the greater Salem area. What a privilege to be a part of a network of believers that touches heaven on a daily basis.
Weather permitting, we will be going on a Yamhill County Prayer Ride Saturday June 3rd from 9 am until 1 pm. We will begin in McMinnville in the public parking area next to the Key Bank Parking on 2nd St. We will travel to all of the towns and bergs in the county, taking time to pray over each one. If you have a motorcycle and feel adventurous, come join us. Maybe you will want to follow along in your pickup just in case a Harley breaks down. Thank you so much for your continued prayer support and we will stay in touch.

Ted passed away last Sunday night, May 14th, surrounded by his family. Ted's last word was the name of Jesus. We will miss him! There is no Memorial Service planned at this time.
“Let There Be Light”.
by Katie and Bryan Torwalt
“When You speak darkness has to bow
Confusion has its final hour,
When you speak mountains rise and fall
You tear down every wall, around me
When You speak breathe upon the dust
You came alive in us.
When You speak You silence every fear around us.
Let there be light, let there be light,
Until it fills up every space
Come and have Your way
Let there be light, let there be light,
Just one word and I am changed
Come and have Your way.”
Maybe this has been a dark season for you - maybe the concerns,
struggles and confusion have caused you to lose your focus.
Maybe you just want more of the Father’s love and presence.
We are not sure but this is our prayer for You...that you would see clearly as He shines His light...touches Your heart and breathes new life into every circumstance You face.
The last part of this song is the hope we give to you...
“Now You’re everything we seek
As deep cries out to deep
WE WILL SEE GOD.
Here Your glory on display, Jesus take Your place
WE WILL SEE GOD”
May you see Him this Christmas!
“For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light do we see light.” (Amp.)
“You’re a fountain of cascading light and You open our eyes to light.” (Mess.)
“For You are the fountain of life, the light by which we see.” (NLT)
