Church Announcements - MARCH / APRIL 2020
Hello Promise Church, CORONAVIRUS COVID-19 UPDATE
What crazy days we are living in…kind of feels like a sci-fi movie with mask-wearing, empty shelves at the grocery store, and the scramble over toilet paper, hamburger and spaghetti sauce. We have new words that are entering our vocabulary like coronavirus, COVID-19, social distancing, and self-quarantine. Schools are being closed, businesses are shutting down, crowds are discouraged, and there will definitely be more restrictions in the days ahead…BUT God is in control!
Many have asked what we are planning to do here at Promise Church. As of today, we will continue with Thursday night worship practice. We are asking that pantry workers and worship team members be the only ones to attend church. For the rest of you we will be live streaming on facebook. If you don’t have a facebook account please get with someone who does but keep the meeting size to around 10 people. If you are feeling like you have a cold or not feeling well please stay home as some of the worship team and pantry workers are at risk people.
For the next few weeks we are suggesting the following;
1). If you are sick or have been exposed to someone who is sick please stay home so that others don’t become sick.
2) We are a warm and loving church but must be wise so please put your hugs and handshakes on hold for a while. Air high fives are fine for now.
3) Please keep in touch and check up on people that we know who are at risk and may need help or assistance (our elderly and others who have medical conditions that make them susceptible to the COVID-19 virus).
4) Maintain the faith, do things and read things that build your faith and not fear, in fact here is a song "The Blessing," by Elevation Music and Kari Jobe. It is a prophetic and anointed worship song that will minister peace and hope to you in this season. Here’s the link: https://bit.ly/2kzs91K
We are so thankful for your financial gifts to Promise church and we need to encourage you that we still have financial obligations that we need to honor. Last week the pantry fed 84 people! You can give on-line www.promisecenter.org or send a letter to Dundee Promise Church P.O. Box 70, Dundee OR 97115.
Thank you for being a blessing!
In closing, I want to share with you a few encouraging scriptures from the Word of God:
John 14:27 (NLT) - “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid."
John 16:33 (NLT) - I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
So, be wise, be safe, and be full of faith as our God is on the throne.
